QC USER'S MANUAL Congratulations on choosing QC. QC is a one of a kind XTension which helps you stay on top of the ever complex process of creating top quality documents. While there are several 'pre-flight' type solutions available, most of them are designed to catch problems at the end of the production process which can create some frantic scrambles to correct last-minute problems. To avoid this crunch why not stay on top of problems as they arise? With the easy-to-use interface and handy interactive palette, QC will change the way you approach quality assurance, making it a part of everyday workflow. As many things as QC checks for there are always more to be found. QC is not a substitute for qualified personnel who specialize in proofreading, editing, kerning, preflight issues, etc. It is merely another tool which when used properly, can reduce the work of such people. There's still no substitute for the human brain! As with all GLUON products, expect QC to have a long history of improvements. We are most eager to hear your particular needs and desired features so we can quickly evolve QC to the highest level. 'Our' best ideas tend to come from our customers. Preparation IMPORTANT: FIRST REMOVE ANY OLD VERSIONS OF GLUON QC AS THIS WILL CAUSE CONFLICTS IN QUARK! Place all GLUON Xtensions in the XTension folder inside the Quark folder. Do not put XTensions in your system folder or inside other folders within the Quark XTension folder. This process must be repeated for each machine upon which you want to use GLUONS. Once you have activated a machine for one GLUON, this machine will run all GLUONS so you do not need to repeat the process when you get new GLUONS. IMPORTANT: GLUONS will not operate if the above activation procedure is not followed! Please keep the GLUON Activator in a safe place as it is our small piracy deterrent. Also, you may need it again if the System or Quark is reinstalled. |
